OCI Associates, Inc. provided mechanical, electrical, and plumbing design engineering services for a new Central Energy Plant (CEP) at Valencia College’s Osceola Campus. Our team designed the system with three 500-ton water cooled centrifugal compressor chillers; a fully enclosed cooling tower that utilized a fan array for redundancy and ease of maintenance, and a variable primary pumping system.
The new efficient CEP was needed to serve the College better and support the addition of their fourth campus building; a 150,000 SF Library Science Complex. OCI designed the new system, and it was constructed before the new library and science building was completed to allow for a better change over between systems.
OCI managed this project as a Prime consultant and provided conceptual BIM renderings to help the facilities staff see the project progress and CEP design.
