Lake Nona Campus

Valencia College

About this Project

The three-story facility includes 18 smart classrooms, six science labs and expanded hallways that create student hubs. These hotspots are designed with students in mind with multiple electrical outlets and comfortable seating. Valencia Students can study, stay connected, surf the web, and “recharge their batteries.” The library has plenty of open study space for students, which is reflected in the open and shaded outdoor courtyard. The $21.7 million dollar campus opened on August 27, 2012, and incorporates both energy efficiency design through the MEP systems and layout of the multi-level atrium that provides natural daylight into the building. The project is Three Green Globes certified by the Green Building Initiative; a program designed to recognize energy-efficient structures similar to a USGBC LEED® certification.
