Signature Flight Hangar C

San Francisco International Airport

About this Project

OCI’s team provided complete MEP/FP engineering design for this New 25,000 square foot aircraft hangar with 4,000 square feet office space.

The Group II hangar is designed with a combination of automatic sprinkler protection and automatic low-level high-expansion foam system with foam hand hose stations per NFPA 409 and is fitted with two 200-gallon foam storage tanks.

The HVAC system is designed with two rooftop packaged DX units with VAV terminal units for individual zone control within the administration portion of the building. There is a dedicated DX split system provided for the telecommunications room to maintain optimal equipment operating temp. The main hangar bay is equipped with ventilation.

The electrical design featured 480V power distribution throughout the building and a 208/120V power via step-down transformers. The layout required full coordination with the owner and flight operations for the proper power requirements for the ground support equipment (GSE). The hangar also featured aircraft static grounding receptacles in the floor slab, high bay lighting with a central lighting control panel, and fully addressable fire alarm system with high expansion foam release system.
