OCI Associates, Inc. provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection engineering design for a 44,000 square foot Health Sciences Hall for Florida SouthWestern State College at the Collier campus in Naples, Florida. The building maximizes energy efficient building design including the use of orientation, day lighting, energy efficient windows, LED and fluorescent lighting, solar thermal water heating, high energy efficient climate control, and solar PV panels. The combination of energy efficiency and energy production will bring the building to net metering capability and will reduce potential greenhouse gas emissions. The presence of this structure fosters awareness among students on campus regarding the principals of reduced energy consumption and renewable energy generation.
