OCI Associates, Inc. provided complete mechanical and electrical engineering design services for the chiller plant upgrades at Bayside High School located in Brevard County. OCI replaced two 400-ton chillers and one 225-ton chiller with two 450-ton chillers. Replacement of the chillers associated heat exchanger, pumps, and piping; upgrades to the surge suppression system; and replacement of exhaust fans as required to accommodate the outside air reduction are also part of the project scope. Our design team developed a solution to reduce the outside air entering the buildings by implementing air purification systems campus wide. This solution resulted in bringing the total HVAC system capacity within the original design requirements.
