OCI Associates, Inc. provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, information technology, and audiovisual systems engineering design for Pasco-Hernando State College’s Port Campus at Wiregrass Ranch. This campus is the fifth full-service location for the college in the state of Florida. The new Porter Campus is located in Wesley Chapel, Florida and combines the latest high-tech trends in higher education with a traditional focus on teaching and learning. The campus is located adjacent to Wiregrass Ranch High School and provides convenient access to higher education to area residents. The Porter Campus offers business and healthcare programs to train workers for jobs in medical and technology fields while strengthening PHSC’s collaboration with local business and industry.
The parking garage and building design maximized utilization of the site with room for future growth. The two-level parking garage is on the first level with the five stories of classrooms, labs, offices, student services, green roofs and other related areas above. The site was donated as part of a larger DRI and comes with significant environmental impacts, including design review by the developer in addition to the typical DOE/SREF review and approval requirements.
