The Library and Science Building at Valencia College’s Osceola Campus is designated as Building 4 and is the largest building on campus. It houses the college library, cafeteria, bookstore, classrooms, and science labs. A learning support center contains tutoring stations, computers, and small-group study rooms. The building includes a variety of energy- efficient and green features, such as high-efficiency air-conditioning systems, dual-flush toilets and green materials used in the floors, walls, and ceilings. In addition to the energy-saving features inside, the landscaping uses native plants, which require less irrigation and houses a cistern to capture rainwater and re-use it. The outdoor space includes three outdoor courtyards, which feature benches, power outlets, wireless Internet and six-foot- tall glass slabs that serve as whiteboards for students and instructors.
