West Centennial High School Central Energy Plant

School District of St. Lucie County

About this Project

OCI Associates, Inc. provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection engineering design for a new 1,200-ton central energy plant to support the 310,000 square foot Centennial High School in Port St. Lucie, Florida.

OCI worked with St. Lucie County Schools to design and build an energy efficient cooling system for the campus. To achieve the school district’s Energy Task Force improve goals, we provided an energy plant design that included a thermal ice storage system comprised of 36 tanks and air-cool chillers.

Our team managed this project successfully under an extraordinary situation based on the proposed quick turnaround schedule. The project was fast-tracked to meet the scheduling goal, and our team provided the complete design in 4 weeks from conception to release of Owner’s Direct Purchase. The entire project was completely constructed and operational in 4 months.
