OCI provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, IT/AV, fire protection and fire alarm engineering design for the renovation of an existing commercial space into the National Operations Center for Quest Diagnostics. The 48,840 square foot facility houses Quest Diagnostics Human Resources Shared Services and a 24-hour call center.
OCI’s engineering team performed field evaluations of the existing building systems and provided the owner with recommendations. The team’s MEP solution included upgrading the HVAC system from a single zone constant volume system to a variable volume and temperature system. Independent mini-split systems were provided to serve IT server room(s) and audio-visual closet(s). The electrical design includes an on-site generator to ensure no disruptions in the event of a storm or power outage, and a direct digital controls system provides automated control of the buildings HVAC system.
