The full renovation of the Alric C.T. Pottberg Library involved the addition of 15,583 square feet to the building. The additional space provided 11,098 square feet of additional library space, 614 square feet of classrooms, 1,363 square feet of labs in a learning center, a 2,508 square foot museum, support and administrative areas. New HVAC design included packaged chilled water air handlers with VAV zone boxes throughout the building. The new chillers were connected to the campus’ existing cooling tower system. College staff and students fully occupied the two-story building during construction and phasing the project was required so there would be minimal disruptions to the students.
OCI Associates provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and IT/AV engineering design for the project.
