OCI Associates, Inc. provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, information technology and audio visual systems engineering design for the $2.5 million dollar Richardson Conference Center at Indian River State College’s Mueller Campus. The Richardson Conference Center is a multi-purpose, multi-user facility and the first high-tech business, training and conference center in Indian River County, Florida. Funder for the entire budget was through matching state funds and an aggressive fund raising campaign supported by local businesses, associates and the community. The multi-purpose conference room includes multi tasking screens that can project teleconferences, in-house events, websites, and other sources simultaneously. The room opens directly to a large covered veranda, which is also connected to the culinary arts training kitchen, providing hands-on training for students. A strategic planning room (“war room”) features video projection, teleconferencing, and a central control center smart board with connectivity to the smart boards in the four smaller break-out rooms. The one-story, the brick structure also includes a reception and business offices, a vehicle drop-off loop, and a large welcoming lobby which can be used for events and receptions.
