Partnership III Building

University of Central Florida, Main Campus

About this Project

The five-story office and research lab facility is shared by the Institute for Simulation & Training, other UCF departments, and components of the defense community. The $20 million-dollar Partnership III Building is almost a mirror image of Partnership II which saved time and several millions of dollars in architectural design costs. Using an existing building design allowing the design team to concentrate on incorporating energy-efficient improvements to qualify as an environmentally friendly certified USGBC LEED® Silver building. This building is the third in a series that is dedicated to the Central Florida Research Park and is a partnership project between the Department of Defense and UCF. The research park is a hub of modeling, simulation and training research, and acquisition. The Naval Air Warfare Center Training Systems Division (NAVAIR TSD) and U.S. Air Force Agency for Modeling and Simulation are within walking distance. The driving motivation for the partnership series is to help sustain Orlando as a hub for simulation research and industry development and maintain a significant DoD presence, which, in turn, contributes to the local economy.
