OCI Associates, Inc. provided mechanical, plumbing and fire protection engineering design for a new technology complex on Indian River State College’s main campus in Fort Pierce, Florida. The Kight Center for Emerging Technologies has been recognized as a top college for technology in the United States by the Center for Digital Education and American Association of Community Colleges. The building is centered around a 2,700 square foot imaging dome that encompasses two stories and can be separated into three 900 square foot interactive classrooms. The four-story complex houses two virtual studios with green screen technology. Students in the Digital Media Institute study the latest industry standard software in the state-of-the-art MAC lab. Network security and web development are the focus of the Cyber Security Institute, and the Advanced Manufacturing Suite and Photonics Laboratory create a unique environment for the study of robotics and light and laser technologies.
