Commissioning Specialist

The following description outlines the objectives, needs, and requirements for the position of the Commissioning Specialist at OCI Associates, Inc. The position is available at our Headquarters, Orlando Office.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • To provide consistently excellent commissioning services to our clients which will meet or exceed their expectations.
  • To travel as the occasion may arise to perform or assist our team with site observations. Conduct Cx meetings and make on-site assessment of the client’s needs to accurately determine the scope of required commissioning services and other requirements.
  • Develop Cx plans, check lists and functional performance test, conduct required testing, assemble required Cx documentation for a complete report submission.
  • To steadily improve professional capability by consistent self-study, interaction with other industry professionals, and by involvement in such continuing education opportunities as appropriate.
  • To develop knowledge of local, state, and national codes as applicable to the work.
  • Determine scope and definition of MEP systems intended for use on any given project.
  • Develop capability to utilize current industry accepted computer programs to produce the required commissioning documents needed.
  • Verify code compliance of the system designs.
  • Perform review of design documents and their specifications to develop comments related to found issues or deficiencies.
  • Continuously seek out the proper recognized professional literature in order to know where to find the information needed to complete required documents.
  • Develop an adequate understanding of how all components of proposed MEP systems function in order to be able to evaluate overall system performance under designed conditions.
  • Develop required checklists and functional tests for all required systems.
  • Perform tasks including, but not limited to, MEP site observations, shop drawing review, and deficiency punch lists.
  • Preparation and upload required documentation to USGBC, LEED or Green Globes Sites.

 

  • REQUIREMENTS
  • Six to nine years minimum of controls or test and balance experience or mechanical design
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, Bluebeam, and FTP share sites

 

  • REQUIREMENTS
  • CxA, CCP, or QCxP Commissioning certifications
  • Bachelor Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering degree from an Accredited University
  • LEED AP, BD+C, CEM, Green Building Associates Certification or similar certifications
  • Experienced in controls, test & balance and/or designing either K-12, Higher Education, Public Safety, Healthcare, Multi-family, Theme Park and/or Government Facilities building types
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite including Word, Excel, Outlook, Bluebeam, and FTP share sites
