At the request of several architects, OCI opened our Fort Myers office to provide qualified engineering in southwest Florida. Gary Wydock joined the team for mechanical engineering and Mark Kramer for electrical engineering.
Founded OCI Associates
OCI began as a four-person firm based in Altamonte Springs, Florida, providing mechanical engineering services. The team included Amir Kazeminia, PE, Mechanical Engineer of Record; Jason Smith, a recent Engineering graduate from the University of Central Florida; and Randy Stewart who supported all the administrative needs including contracts, marketing and business development. Initially, most of the team’s work was on the private sector side designing financial institutions, restaurants, condos and unique projects for Disney.

Established Fort Pierce office
OCI expanded into the public sector, designing projects for local municipalities and K-12 school districts in St. Lucie, Indian River and Martin County. We opened our first branch office in Fort Pierce to service the new clients.

OCI ventured out the state of Florida, opening our Washington DC office, led Jag Kapila, Senior Project Manager. The establishment of our Washington DC office marks an increase in OCI's federal government experience.

This office was established due to the growth of our San Francisco International Airport portfolio. OCI was later awarded the Prime MEP Continuing Services Contract for the airport in part because of our local presence.
Acquired by CMTA | Legence
In November 2023, OCI was acquired by CMTA, a Legence company, the leading integrated provider of energy efficiency solutions across the entire building life-cycle and first Energy Transition Accelerator.
